Our liquid hydrogen fuel tanks are designed to support powertrain and flight testing for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), with development performed in collaboration with Cryoworld. These tests are a first step towards standardisation and certification of drones powered by liquid hydrogen. The developments on NLR’s HYDRA-2 and AeroDelft’s Phoenix Prototype, represent key advancements in liquid hydrogen-powered UAVs and serve as a first step towards the integration of liquid hydrogen powertrains into manned aircraft.
Product scope
Our liquid hydrogen fuel tanks, developed in collaboration with Cryoworld, are engineered for UAV powertrain and flight testing. With a full-tank mass of 4–6 kg, they deliver 2–4 hours of theoretical flight time and meet PED 2014/68/EU safety standards. Designed for seamless integration across diverse UAV platforms, we partner with you to tailor tank capacity, interfaces, and control features to your specific testing requirements.
